Safe and Healthy Housing

In 2018 and 2019, we supported a multisector coalition to learn together and develop strategic priorities for collectively resourcing legislative and advocacy efforts to curb lead poisoning. By pooling resources and aligning grantmaking, the funders provided $350,000 over two years for an advocacy campaign through the Lead Free Kids New York Coalition. In 2022, the four community foundations renewed their support of the Coalition and its efforts. To date, the total investment in this strategy is $700,000. To document the process, we produced this case study to inspire funders to adopt this model for other efforts.
